Al-Ain: The United Arab Emirates University announced introducing two new minors in Chinses and Spanish Languages to the College of Humanities and Social Studies, beginning the new academic year 2021- 2022.

This week, the UAEU welcomed the new students at both the virtual and the hybrid teaching systems. The overall number of the university’s students reached approximately 14500 male and female students, including 4132 new students, in addition to the postgraduate students.

Dr. Moza Obaid Al Tenaijy, Chair of the Languages and Literature Department, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, said, “ Introducing these languages is a primary step towards providing the skilled and qualified graduates with new employment opportunities, allowing them to contribute to supporting UAE’s strategic plan for the next 50 years. In addition to strengthening UAE’s relations with Spain and China in all fields”.

“Learning these languages shall enhance communication with many countries, as they are part of the official languages of the United Nations. Besides, introducing these new programs aims at creating ambassadors of diplomacy and promoting the learner’s skills in a way that enables us to communicate with the world through qualified national cadres who possess unique cultural skills”, she added.
